Let’s Stay In Touch!
I write a lot about religious trauma, leaving high-control groups, and the long, messy process of working out who you are afterwards. Some of it ends up on my Substack, some on Instagram, and the most useful bits go straight to my email list.
There are two lists, because what helps someone recovering from religion is different to what helps someone working alongside them. Pick the one that fits, or join both.
Survivors / Supporters / Curious
For anyone who’s left religion, a cult or a high-control group, or is starting to question it. It’s also for the partners, family and friends trying to understand what someone they love has been through, and for anyone who’s simply curious about how these groups work.
What you’ll get:
Honest writing about religious trauma, purity culture, faith deconstruction and recovery
Plain explanations of why your brain and body still react the way they do
Understanding what loved ones experience
First look at new workbooks, guides and resources
The odd bit of sarcasm, because some of what we were taught was ridiculous
Practitioners / Professionals
For counsellors, therapists, psychologists, social workers and coaches, plus anyone whose work brings them into contact with religious trauma or high-control groups.
That includes pastoral carers, advocates, researchers, writers and support workers. You don’t need to specialise in this area, just want to do it well.
What you’ll get:
Practical insights for working with people from high-control backgrounds
New research, resources and things worth reading
Early news about trainings, including any RTC updates, webinars and resources
Occasional reflections from the therapy room, with client details always kept private
